Goodbye "mover of capital." Goodbye "maker of movements." Goodbye "paid-in-full home near the Farm". Goodbye "fixing the world with duct tape". Goodbye "do something truly remarkable". Goodbye "nothing less than the full transformation of this campus". Goodbye "12% annual returns". Goodbye "changing the way people build a business." Goodbye "kids that can choose to go back to the Farm". Goodbye "nothing less than the full transformation of this campus". Goodbye "home in Tahoe". Goodbye "healing the world". Goodbye "stable and secure upbringing." Goodbye "saving enough for the kids to go to college debt-free." Goodbye "perfect complement". Goodbye "perfect job that gets me excited every single morning, yet never tears me away from the family".
It's time to say goodbye to all these dreams, because they're all just dreams.
Hello "get over all those psychological fears that are keeping you from committing to that tithe plan". Hello "find mentors and build up your mentees." Hello "keep saving $30k a year". Hello "remember what values you want to instill in people, and keep learning how best to do that." Hello "continue learning how to be a good steward of wealth." Hello "learning not to work so hard on preparing for the future that God is no longer needed in your plans."
Hello "trust in the lord with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, and with all your strength."

I can understand saying goodbye to some of them, and I applaud the things that you are saying hello to. However, you can still do something truly remarkable. The question is how you define something "truly remarkable." Being a good person and keeping your integrity while succeeding in the world.
You can still buy a home in Tahoe although it may take longer than you would like. You can heal the world in your own unique way, simply by being a faithful follower of Christ. A stable and secure upbringing is still within reach. Saving enough for the kids to go to college debt free could also happen, if you invest well, and they get scholarships and grants. And I still believe that your perfect complement is within reach, even if it seems far away.
